The rest of the players need to get fleshed out and - well - made funny, because right now Bell and Danson, and the quirky premise, carry the weight.
So it stands to reason that more characters will soon join the story and that everyone will eventually hone in on their comedic voice.
Granted, to get to this "town" you have to die and be judged as one of the very best people on earth, but it's a town nonetheless and the idea of showing us how funny supposedly good people can be holds promise.
The bulk of the pilot, "Everything is Fine," involves getting introduced to the setting as we experience everything through Eleanor, along with her mistaken identity secret.
But for right now, the premise is quirky and amusing and, like the residents of the Good Place, it has time to adjust.
