Joey Bosa, the third-overall pick in this year's draft, remains unsigned and still hasn't reported to San Diego Chargers training camp.

In a Facebook comment verified by The San Diego Union Tribune, Bosa's mother, Cheryl, said she wished her son followed in the footsteps of a former Chargers draft pick who spurned the team and went on to have a successful NFL career elsewhere.
Manning, advised by his father, Archie, had no interest in playing for the Chargers.
When San Diego selected him first overall in 2004, they almost immediately dealt him to the New York Giants for Philip Rivers and a package of draft picks.
Manning went on to win two Super Bowls with the Giants, while the Chargers watched from the other side of the country.
He could also refuse to sign his rookie contract and re-enter the draft next year.
