Saugerties police chief Joseph Sinagra said his team had been tipped off by a series of advertisements that Carey had been placing in the 'adult' section of an unnamed website.
One of Carey's advertisements, posted Friday, read: 'Im a pretty lady looking for guys who are looking to have some fun and get into a world of pleasure that other woman just cant provide two you...' She promised that she was a 'woman with the ability to make the earth move for you and to get you to see stars, oh yea with me its, "ITS SUCH A SWEET,SWEET FANTASY BABY, WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES I COME AND TAKE YOU ON AND ON."' In March, Carey spoke directly to her sister in a video recorded by The Daily Mail, asking the pop star - who is worth an estimated $510million - for financial support.
As well as struggling with HIV, the recovering drug addict was reportedly left with brain and spine injuries after a devastating home invasion attack in April 2015.
In the video, she begged the 'I'll be There' singer, with whom she hadn't spoken since a huge falling out in 1994: ‘Mariah I love you, and I desperately need your help, please don’t abandon me like this.’
