Elaine Thompson tonight became the first woman for 28 years to complete the Olympic sprint double in the same Games.
Maintaining Jamaica’s total dominance of the sprint distances, Thompson held off Dutch world champion Dafne Schippers to win a thrilling 200 metres.

"This year I believed a bit more and ok I got lane two but with the bends on this track being quite tight it wasnt the best set up so I thought that I did for me an ok job out of that lane.
