Jamie Dornan and Cillian Murphy on balancing fact and fiction in Anthropoid, the extraordinary true story, working with director Sean Ellis, and more. - From Collider
Opening this weekend is writer-director-cinematographer Sean Ellis’ Anthropoid.
The film is based on the extraordinary true story of “Operation Anthropoid,” the code name for the mission to assassinate SS officer Reinhard Heydrich during World War II.
The film follows two soldiers from the Czechoslovakian army-in-exile, Josef Gabčík (Cillian Murphy) and Jan Kubiš (Jamie Dornan), who parachute into Prague to assassinate Heydrich and must deal with the challenge of pulling of the difficult mission with the city under lock down and limited resources and assistance.
Shot in some of the actual locations where the real events took place, Anthropoid is an extremely well made film that brings to light another incredible World War II story that most don’t know about.
The film also stars Charlotte Le Bon, Anna Geislerová, Harry Lloyd Alena Mihulová, Marcin Dorociński, Bill Milner, Sam Keeley, Jiří Šimek, Mish Boyko, Václav Neužil, Andrej Polák and Toby Jones.
