Mark Feinsand says Carlos Beltran is likely to be dealt, with the Texas Rangers and the Cleveland Indians the finalists - From Lone Star Ball
Sullivan says the Rangers are "hard after" Beltran, and a deal could be close.
Beltran has been on the radar as a possible acquisition for the last couple of days, fueling speculation that Shin-Soo Choo's back is more problematic than has been let on, since Beltran would be more of a necessity if Choo is not available.
Alternatively, it could be an indication Joey Gallo or Jurickson Profar might be getting dealt in a separate deal, such as for Jonathan Lucroy, and the Rangers are wanting another bat to replace Profar or Gallo in the lineup.
Should Beltran be landed, the Rangers would likely have Choo and Beltran split time between RF and DH, assuming each is healthy, with Nomar Mazara as the left fielder, and Ryan Rua and Jurickson Profar available to start at COF, 1B or DH against a lefthanded pitcher.
My guess is that there would be other pieces -- I know that Tate's stock has dropped, but I have a hard time thinking the Rangers would move him this quickly for two months of Beltran.
