Elon Musk is revising his ambitions for sending people to Mars in the next decade, and he says he now has better ideas of how his company, SpaceX, can make money along the way.
Musk, the billionaire founder of SpaceX, plans to talk about his latest ideas on Friday at the International Astronautical Congress in Adelaide, Australia.
SpaceX is to webcast his talk beginning at 12:30 a.m.
The first flights to Mars could occur as early as 2024, he said then.
Musk acknowledged that landing thrusters had been removed from the capsule design, and that appeared to mark the end of Red Dragon.
