I don’t believe the land grant mission document mentions anything about men’s football and basketball, nor does it mention the successful women’s equine program, which was eliminated recently.
Are the suggested alternatives of the regents-appointed committee to suggest ways of funding certain athletic programs not a perfect example of discrimination?
I am as proud as the next person about the success of the athletic programs, but not at the expense of the academic, research and service missions of the university.
