When the cast and crew arrived at the Metrograph for an early screening of episode one, which Jason Bateman starred in, directed, and executive produced, they were delighted to find that the red carpet had been decorated with lush greenery, in a nod to the series’s setting.
“I always think it’s a good time for a suit,” said Linney.
“I was very excited when I learned that he would be stretching into a different genre,” explained the actress.
Once inside, the dimly-lit interiors, with Colonial tavern decor and taxidermy, proved a perfect backdrop for the heaps of faux money—all $100 bills, naturally—that had been scattered throughout the space as a reference to the money-laundering Marty.
“I think you have to do it all—you take a bullet.” Adding: “Marty is not being forced to do this, he’s kind of trying to get a way with cutting a corner, which I think is some of that temptation that lives inside all of us.” No doubt attendees and audiences alike will be tempted to binge-watch Ozark this coming weekend.
