You’ll be joining a relatively new commissioning team with a broad genre remit that crosses from upmarket reading group fiction to speculative literary and historical, but also encompasses some narrative non-fiction.
Day-to-day administration will also be a significant element of the role, so a flexible, cheerful attitude and good time management skills are essential, along with excellent and confident communication skills, as the role involves liaison with authors, agents and other departments within the company.
The ideal candidate will be extremely efficient, organised and deadline focussed, with excellent administrative and computer skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), and a very keen eye for detail – a thorough grasp of grammar and spelling is essential.
A voracious reader with an interest in the charts and a love of bookshops, a knowledge and love of the industry, with genuine enthusiasm for upmarket fiction and thought provoking non-fiction, is a must.
Unfortunately, due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are only able to get in touch directly with shortlisted candidates.
