The premise of NBC’s new DC Entertainment show, Powerless, has gone through a lot of changes (as has the staff!), but with a February premiere date looming, we finally have the the version of this new (un)superhero comedy that’s ready for prime time.
The new premise actually sounds really interesting, and I have to say the first thing I thought of was the hilarious 2009 comedy, Better Off Ted, another comedy about a protagonist who works in R&D, for a company that doesn’t really care all that much about the people who buy their products.
Also amazing-looking is the cast, with awesome comedic actors like Danny Pudi, Alan Tudyk, Christina Kirk, Ron Funches, Kate Miccuci (who also “costars” with Pudi on the upcoming Duck Tales reboot!), and Josh Fadem.
Having seen Vanessa Hudgens in things from her High School Musical days, to Sucker Punch, to the recent Grease Live, I can’t say I’m impressed with her acting in general.
More concerning to me, however, is the fact that in this trailer, she seems the most stiff and the least comfortable with the comedic tone of anyone else on screen.
